A day after announcing in an interview with Time magazine that he plans to use the Army to arrest undocumented immigrants, Trump promised the largest deportation the country has ever seen.
“Allowing the entry through the southern border of millions and millions of people, many of them very bad, is not sustainable. They are going to destroy the country. We are going to carry out the largest deportation in history. We have no other option,” he said.
University protests and abortion restrictions
He also assured that crime has skyrocketed under Biden’s mandate, although he praised the work of the police officers and took the opportunity to congratulate the New York officers who on Tuesday cleared the protest of pro-Palestinian students at Columbia University.
“The police arrived and in two hours everything was over. It was beautiful to see,” said the Republican, who said that Biden has been missing while the protests at universities spread.
Their appearances coincided with the entry into force today in Florida of a law that restricts abortion to six weeks of gestation, when many women are not yet pregnant.
Trump took credit for the fact that the Supreme Court, with three of its nine judges appointed by him, overturned in 2022 the ruling that protected abortion at the federal level and defended that each state should have its own legislation.
Some of his followers asked him for a total ban on abortion, but the Republican, who fears that being too radical on this issue could cost him the elections, reminded them that the most important thing is to “win the elections.”
