Valid Identification Made Easy for Businesses

As previously announced, iPhone users can now present their driver’s license or ID stored in the Wallet app at participating businesses and venues. Starting later this year, users will simply need to hold their iPhone or Apple Watch near the business’s iPhone to verify their age and identity when purchasing alcohol, renting cars, and more.

One of the most talked-about features is the ability to add our ID to Wallet, providing a simpler, faster, and more secure method of sharing personal information.

In an official announcement, Apple stated that beginning this fall, “businesses will be able to accept IDs in Apple Wallet without the need for additional hardware.” This means that customers can now present their identification using their iPhone and Apple Wallet for activities like purchasing alcohol and renting cars.

Apple Pay Transaction Tracking via Apple Maps

Apple Pay order tracking is receiving several improvements, including integration with Apple Maps, transaction receipts, the option to add orders to the Wallet app from email attachments, and a new “Track with Apple Wallet” button for apps and websites.

This feature is beneficial for merchants too, as they can now attach a receipt to Apple Pay orders as a PDF or image file. This ensures that customers have a record of their Wallet payment. Customers can simply tap on the email attachment in the Mail app and add the order to the Wallet app.
