Many doctors, nurses and staff are not present in the hospital. State Minister of Health said that if someone is absent despite their duties, disciplinary action will be taken against them. Rokeya Sultana.

He said these things on the second session of the first day of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) conference at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Sunday (March 3).

The Minister of State for Health said that it is known how many beds are occupied or empty in government hospitals. But how many patients will come to the emergency department is not fixed. And if any patient comes to our hospitals, they are not turned away. Those who are responsible for their treatment but do not attend, will be told that disciplinary action will be taken for absence.

Dr. Rokeya Sultana said that there are more patients on the floor than in hospital beds everywhere, including Dhaka’s government hospital at the district and upazila levels. None of the staff including doctors, nurses get extra salary for extra bed service. They serve all patients out of their sense of responsibility. If we evaluate them then all those who do not work regularly will get interest.

The state minister could not start office after receiving the responsibility. However, he joined the DC conference on the invitation of the Health Minister.

When asked what will be the priority in taking charge, the state minister said, I will try to provide quality and standard treatment. There will be challenges, we will work as a team in all challenges.
