Deputy Minister of BUMN Inaugurates The Gade Tower, Pegadaian’s Green Building

JAKARTA – Deputy Minister of BUMN Kartika Wirjoatmodjo inaugurated the new Pegadaian building with the Green Building concept on Tuesday (7/5/2024). The inauguration of The Gade Tower, located on Jalan Kramat Raya No. 162, Central Jakarta, was marked by the signing of an inscription and cutting of the ribbon by the Deputy Minister of BUMN, accompanied by Deputy Director of BRI Catur Budi Harto, Main Commissioner of PT Pegadaian Loto Srinaita Ginting, Main Director of Pegadaian Damar Latri Setiawan, as well as Pawnshop People.

In her speech, Kartika hoped that The Gade Tower would provide a new spirit for Pegadaian people to be more productive and innovative in contributing to Indonesia.

“The hope is that The Gade Tower will become a symbol of Pegadaian’s modernization, from a traditional Pegadaian to a modern Pegadaian, including digital modernization and millennial talent modernization as well as entering the bullion ecosystem, so that it is relevant to changing times,” said the Deputy Minister of BUMN who is familiarly called Tiko.

Meanwhile, the Main Director of PT Pegadaian Damar Latri Setiawan said he was grateful. The reason is, the construction of The Gade Tower is clear evidence of the hard work of all Pegadaian people who have struggled to advance the company by carrying out various innovations and transformations in serving the community, so that they can build a magnificent new home for Pegadaian people.

“Alhamdulillah, The Gade Tower is proof of the company’s transformation that we should be grateful for. “It is hoped that the construction of this tower will be an encouragement so that Pegadaian’s performance will be even higher,” said Damar.

With a Gold certified Green Building concept, the construction of The Gade Tower is the result of collaboration with PT PP (Persero). The tower, which has 22 floors and two basements, applies energy conservation, including using solar panels as an energy source. The facade or face of the building uses a type of glass that is able to absorb the heat of sunlight, thus having an impact on the use of air conditioning or air conditioner (AC).

Apart from that, to save energy, especially in water use, this building also has equipment to recycle water, so that it does not have much impact on groundwater use. This building is also equipped with good water catchment located in the garden area.
