China is Champion, Indonesia is Runner Up

The Indonesian men’s team team had to be satisfied with bringing home runner up status in Thomas Cup 2024. The second position status was obtained after Jonatan Christie et al lost 1-3 to China in the final match at the Hi-Tech Zone Sports Center Gymnasium, Sunday (5/5/2024).

This painful defeat is like a place for China’s revenge against Indonesia. At the 2020 Thomas Cup in Denmark, the Indonesian men’s team team won with a score of 3-0.

This year, the situation actually reversed for China, which won the 2024 Thomas Cup final with a score of 3-1. This is the 11th trophy in the tournament which takes place every two years.

Meanwhile for Indonesia, this is the eighth time the Red and White men’s team team has emerged as runners up in the Thomas Cup. However, Indonesia still occupies the top position in the list of winning the most trophies in the Thomas Cup.
