With Gaza on the brink of collapse following Israeli bombings, which occur in response to the attack carried out by Hamas last Saturday, diplomatic efforts are intensifying to stop a conflict that is entering its seventh day.
The King of Jordan, Abdullah II, today warned the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, who is visiting the area, of “any attempt to displace the Palestinians” from the Gaza Strip, given the Israeli Army’s ultimatum to evacuate the north of the Palestinian enclave in the face of a possible ground incursion.
According to the Petra news agency, the monarch reminded Blinken of the “need to open urgent humanitarian corridors” to bring necessary aid to the Palestinian enclave, where more than 2.2 million people reside and is on the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe.
The US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd J. Austin, also arrived in Tel Aviv today, who plans to meet with Israeli leaders and express his support for the people of Israel, after the Hamas attack.
From Europe, the president of the Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the president of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, arrived in Israel this Friday to convey their solidarity to the country for the offensive of the Islamic organization.

Putin warns that casualties from ground operation in Gaza will be ‘unacceptable’
For his part, the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, warned this Friday that the civilian casualties that an Israeli ground operation would cause in the Gaza Strip will be “unacceptable.”
“The ground operation in Gaza and the use of heavy weapons in residential neighborhoods will have serious consequences for all parties,” the Kremlin chief said at a summit of the leaders of the post-Soviet Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Bishkek.
However, Putin admitted Israel’s right to defend itself in the face of an “unprecedented attack due to its cruelty.”
For the Russian president, who blames this new outbreak of violence on the failure of US policy in that region, the solution to the conflict involves negotiations, whose final objective will be the implementation of the UN two-state formula, the Israeli and Palestinian with their capital in East Jerusalem.
