Czech hockey was shaken by sad news. Former junior representative Jiří Suchý died at the age of just 36. The former defender of Vítkovice or Jihlava lost his life in a traffic accident.

Canadian junior team Halifax Mooseheads reported the tragic death of a pupil from Slezana in Opava. In his jersey, Suchý jumped into a total of 118 duels between 2005 and 2007.

“It is with a heavy heart that we learned of the death of Jiří Suchý, who tragically died in a recent car accident. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.” wrote the club on social networks.

On Czech soil, Jiří Suchý, for example, wore the jersey of Kladno, Třinec, Poruba, Jihlava or Šumperka. In 2008, he jumped into two games at the junior championship in Pardubice, where he met, for example, the 2010 world hockey champion Jakub Voráček on the ice. Jiří Suchý ended his professional career in the 2012/13 season.
