Coparmex signed an agreement with Icatec to provide affordable, high-quality training to its workers, considering that education is one of the ways in which it can act against inequality and poverty.
In addition to this, Jorge Reyes Casas, president of the Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex) in the Laguna region, said that an agreement was also signed with the Organization of American States and with Microsoft for the creation of three Poeta centers, which They provide training in technological skills for work, they make adapted technologies available to the community that facilitate the use of the computer.
“We are going to generate courses in digital skills for the workers of our companies, they are measured in three fundamental groups, The first is the collaborators, the second is the ladies (sellers) who are called nenis, and also low-income students.“We are opening a catalog of courses that, in theory and in practice, is to provide an approach to better quality education, which can greatly improve the region in terms of having more prepared personnel,” he expressed.
Marco Cantú Vega, director of the Labor Training Institute of the State of Coahuila (Icatec), pointed out that La Laguna has a special impact on the labor sector and that the intention of the agreement is to increase the elements that make it possible to improve productivity within the region.
He indicated that one of the challenges is the generation of employment, but also that it is decent employment, which is why one of the commitments of the Ministry of Labor and that has been promoted in the state is that human capital has greater elements to be able to access better conditions, which has become substantial at this time.
He mentioned that soft skills are increasingly important, according to studies carried out.
“We have been working hard to make agreements with productive organizations with experience in the educational field so that these programs can be developed, We are going to work hand in hand to provide very good quality training to our partner companies and that they can have a space where we can link the two organizations,” commented the head of Coparmex.
