Elements of the National Guard and the Mexican Army were met with gunfire after entering a safe house in the municipal seat of the municipality of Reforma to carry out a search.
In the brawl, the criminals entered the school located on one side and from there they shot at the uniformed officers.
The crossfire caused students from the Villatoro Children’s Institute kindergarten, located on one side, to take shelter inside their classrooms, like the teachers, and put their chests on the ground to avoid being hit by the bullets.
The situation became desperate for the parents, who arrived at the scene to try to rescue their children and take them to their homes, but the crossfire prevented them from doing so.
The municipality of Reforma is located in the northern area of Chiapas, adjacent to Tabasco, an entity where organized crime operates.
Until the closing of this edition, it was unknown if the criminals were arrested, although a person was visibly seen killed by bullets. Authorities had not commented on the matter, but police reported that an investigation had been opened.
It is worth mentioning that in the state of Chiapas the presence of organized crime has led to various operations by Mixed Operations Bases in several municipalities, one of them was in Reforma.
To date, in the municipalities of Frontera Comalapa, Chicomuselo, La Concordia, Motozintla and others in the mountain area, organized crime itself carries out road blockades.
They have even circulated various notices asking people traveling on the roads to carry their voter credentials in order to avoid being investigated or in any case being prevented from passing.
So far, there have been no clashes between criminal gangs in that region.
