Chilean Carabineros, in order to verify that house arrests are carried out, must visit the homes of the people under investigation. The uniformed officers have gone four times to check her home, but the former mayor of Maipú would not have attended to the police. This action could put his precautionary measure at risk, according to a police report that was delivered to the Ninth Guarantee Court of Santiago.
As reported by La Tercera PM, said document warns that, with this, the Prosecutor’s Office could insist on Barriga’s preventive detention. It should be remembered that house arrest was decreed on January 18 of this year after the former mayor was investigated for fraud against the Treasury – for 30 billion pesos – and forgery of a public instrument. This, even though the High Complexity East Prosecutor’s Office asked to reverse her precautionary order and specify her preventive detention.
The former Mekano’s defense asked the court to change its precautionary measure, but without success. Now, they did grant him an outing every Friday this month to go to Quisco, in the V region, to take her son to therapy.

As revealed by La Tercera, yesterday, Thursday, May 2, Carabineros de la Tenencia de Malloco notified the court of several infractions committed by Barriga regarding precautionary measures. The document says: “Iwithapplication of precautionary measure, relapsed on the accused Cathy Barriga Guerra.”
Furthermore, said letter requests a ruling from the court “because efforts have been made to comply with the provisions of that court, however, it has not been able to materialize on four occasions.”
The document reveals that the first time that Barriga did not attend the Carabineros visit was the April 12 when a check was carried out at 2:48 a.m. The second occurred 9 days later, on April 23 at 1:22 a.m. The third time, on April 25 at 3:11 a.m., he also did not go out to see the uniformed officers who visited his home.
Although it was the same defense that fought for this precautionary measure, they alleged that the former dancer has been visited 214 times, that is, an average of 2.1 times a day.
