The 11th indoor championship will be held in Tehran, Iran from February 17 to February 19. 5 athletes are going from Bangladesh. But all eyes are on Imranur Rahman who was born and raised in London. Last time he won the gold medal with a career best time of 6.59 seconds. What will happen now?
Imranur showed his full presence by maintaining the superiority of hundred meters in national athletics in Dhaka. He also did intensive training at the Army Stadium before leaving for Tehran.
Imranur will leave Dhaka on Thursday morning. Before that, the fastest man told Bangla Tribune optimistically, ‘I am in a good position. I am ready to participate in the championship in Tehran. But for me it is very challenging. Because no one has ever won a gold medal twice before. But I definitely want to win a medal again. It won’t be easy. I will try my best. There will be big athletes from Asia. I have to be very careful. That’s where all my eyes are now.’
Not only Imranur, but others including Zaheer or Shireen are also going to Tehran with the goal of doing something good by improving their timing with their best efforts.
