JAKARTA – The government prepares a subsidy budget for distribution People’s Business Credit (KUR) amounting to IDR 47.78 trillion in 2024. President Joko Widodo ( Jokowi ) noted that KUR subsidies in 2024 are considered very large, even if allocated for development reservoir can reach 40 reservoirs.

This statement by the Head of State was made when opening the BRI Microfinance Outlook 2024, Thursday (7/3/2024). He confirmed that the KUR subsidy could reduce loan interest in banks, where credit for micro businesses is at 3% and for small businesses at 6%.

“The government is also involved, don’t be mistaken, for KUR. “This year’s government subsidy is IDR 46 trillion so that the interest can be reduced to 3 percent for micro businesses and 6 percent for small businesses,” said Jokowi.

“Don’t think that it’s a small number, Rp. 46 trillion is a very big number, if you build a reservoir, there will be 40 reservoirs,” he explained.

For BRI KUR loans, the maximum limit is 500 million. KUR BRI is a loan fund program to help capitalize business actors or MSMEs whose interest is subsidized by the government.

Through this people’s business credit, MSMEs can apply for BRI KUR loan funds from a minimum limit of 1 million to a maximum of 500 million per debtor.

“Then there is PNM Mekaar, which can provide maximum credit of IDR 25 million and also KUR which can also provide credit of up to IDR 500 million,” said Jokowi.
