The Public Prosecutor’s Office managed to extend preventive detention for the only accused in the case of the crime that occurred in Los Ralos.
The tragic event took place on Sunday, April 23, 2023, around 5:10, when Ivan Javier Rojas, 19 years old, was returning from a party accompanied by three other people near the Cooperativa La Merced neighborhood, in the town of Los Ralos, specifically in an area known as “La Balanza.” At that moment, they were approached by an individual nicknamed “Cachi” and another unidentified subject. “Cachi” addressed Rojas with threatening words and a struggle began, during which the accused stabbed him in the chest. The victim, seriously injured, was taken to the Health Center Hospital, where she unfortunately died due to her injuries. Meanwhile, the accused and his companion fled the scene running through the area of the sugarcane fields.
The Homicide Prosecutor’s Unit I, in charge of IGnacio Lopez Bustos, requested in a hearing held on Wednesday, February 21, the extension of preventive detention for “Cachi”. At said hearing, the assistant prosecutor Lucas May He asked that the accused be kept in preventive detention for three more months. The judge in charge of the case accepted the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
