JAKARTA – Lieutenant General (Lt. Gen.) TNI Yudi Abrimantyo officially served as Head of the Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS) TNI on March 22, 2024. He filled the position left by Lieutenant General Rudianto who was promoted to Danjen TNI Academy.
The appointment of Lt. Gen. Yudi Abrimantyo as Kabais TNI was based on Decree of the TNI Commander Number Kep/329/III/2024 dated 22 March 2024 concerning dismissal from and appointment to positions within the Indonesian National Army.
Based on this decree, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto transferred and rotated 52 TNI Pati. The details are 40 Pati TNI AD, 10 Pati TNI AL, and 2 Pati TNI AU. Yudi Abrimantyo is one of the TNI AD chiefs who was transferred.
Looking at his track record in the military, Yudi Abrimantyo graduated from the Military Academy (Akmil) in 1989. He came from the Kopassus Infantry branch.
Yudi Abrimantyo is considered to be in the world of intelligence. This is marked by the position of Principal Chief A-5 Dit A BAIS TNI for the period 2016 to 2018 which he once held.
In 2018, Yudi Abrimantyo was trusted to be Bandep Ur Sosbud Deputy for Development at the Secretariat General of the National Resilience Council (Setjen Wantannas) until 2020.
He then received a promotion to become a subordinate of Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto with the position of Secretary of the Directorate General of Defense Strategy at the Ministry of Defense for the 2020-2021 period. His career became even more impressive when he was appointed Head of the National Strategic Installation Agency of the Ministry of Defense (Kabainstrahan Kemhan).
He replaces Major General TNI Yulius Selvanus Komaling who is entering retirement. Yudi Abrimantyo served as Kabainstrahan of the Ministry of Defense from 26 October 2021 to 22 March 2024.
Until finally he received a promotion to become Head of BAIS TNI. At the same time, he was promoted to the rank of three-star general, aka Lieutenant General.
