Bomb warning in the Justice Center forces its facilities to be evacuated

A call about a possible explosive device at the Santiago Justice Center forced the staff to evacuate from its premises. The presence of a bomb was discarded by teams of experts.

The event caused suspension of hearings that were carried out in the different rooms located in its premises. Finally, nearly 200 people had to leave the building to comply with security protocols.

In this regard, Colonel Mario Cid Denmark, head of the Penitentiary Security Department, told the media that The evacuation procedure was carried out after receiving an anonymous call which warned of the presence of an explosive object in the building located on Avenida Pedro Montt, commune of Santiago.

Despite not finding the explosive device, the preventive evacuation of the personnel present in the property was carried out in the same way. On the other hand, Cid explained that the Gendarmerie officials and the prison population present at the Justice Center fThey were transferred to a security area.

GOPE and OS9 Carabineros personnel arrived at the scene to inspect the premises and find the suspicious object. which was ruled out by Lieutenant Colonel Raúl Sáez.

After the operation, it is expected that the Justice Center return to normal.
