Believed to be the Palace of Jinns and Aliens, Shasta is no less haunted than the mountains in Indonesia

CALIFORNIA – It’s not only Indonesians who believe in this haunted mountains such as Mount Merapi, Salak, and Rinjani. People in the United States also believe that there are mountains inhabited by supernatural creatures.

As reported by IFL Science, Thursday (11/4/2024), Mount Shasta, a towering volcano in Northern California, is famous for its stunning natural beauty.

However, behind its beauty, this mountain holds many mysteries that have attracted the attention of explorers, spiritualists and nature lovers for centuries.

Mount Shasta, in addition to being the focus of various modern conspiracies, has long been a sacred site for many Native tribes. As is often the case with other important spiritual sites, these local traditional stories are being displaced or even transformed by modern fantasy, with New Agers vying to become teachers of higher consciousness.

However, these indigenous peoples have long-standing claims to the mountain and its history. Artifacts found in the region indicate that humans have lived there for at least 9,000 years, making it one of the longest-inhabited areas in the country.

Tribes currently living around the mountain include the Shasta, Wintu, Achomawi, Atsugewi, Modoc, and Klamath.

According to their traditional stories, the mountain is inhabited by various spirits and guardians. One of them is the spirit of Chief Skell who is said to have descended to the top of the mountain from heaven.

In his conflict with other primordial spirits from the Underworld, Chief Skell caused numerous eruptions on the mountainside and beyond.

Other prominent traditional figures, such as G’mokumk (the Creator), are said to have lived on the mountain. The Moduc people believe that the bones of their long-dead ancestors are buried in the mountain.
