On February 6, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the head of the Observation Mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) Osman Mesten and other members of the delegation.

According to the information, at the meeting, ideas were exchanged on issues of cooperation within the framework of TURKPA, as well as preparations for the extraordinary presidential elections to be held on February 7 of the current year.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov pointed out that TURKPA is an important platform for the development of existing fraternal and friendly relations between the Turkish states at the inter-parliamentary level, and emphasized political, economic, social, cultural, humanitarian, etc. between our states. emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in expanding cooperation in fields. It was brought to attention that the increase of contacts between the Turkish states at various levels promotes mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of regional and international organizations.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, who informed the other side in detail about the preparations for the extraordinary presidential elections, including the measures taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that this election process, held for the first time after the restoration of our sovereignty in all our territories, is of historical importance. It was brought to attention that 26 polling stations were established in the territories freed from occupation.
The head of the mission, brother Osman Mesten, noted that he was satisfied with the victory achieved by Azerbaijan as a result of the 44-day Patriotic War, as well as with observing the presidential elections held for the first time after the restoration of full sovereignty. Confidence was expressed that the results of the upcoming elections will have an important role in the further development of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
