Back to Back 2024 All England Champions, Fajar/Rian Match the Achievements of Marcus/Kevin and Ricky/Rexy

Indonesian men’s doubles, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, successfully won the title in All England 2024 . This is their second title in a row, aka successfully defending the title.

Fajar/Rian secured the title after defeating Malaysian representatives, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik. Taking place at the Utilita Arena, Birmingham, Sunday (17/3/2024) evening WIB, Fajar/Rian won with a score of 21-16 and 21-16.

This result made Fajar/Rian match the achievements of Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo and Ricky Subagja/Rexy Mainaky. They are listed as the Indonesian men’s doubles who successfully recorded back to back All England titles.

Marcus/Kevin won back to back All England titles in 2017-2018. Meanwhile, Ricky/Rexy won it in 1995-1996.

Previously, Fajar/Rian had to wait one year to feel the title of champion again. Because, the 2023 All England title will be the last title before finally being solved at the 2024 All England.

Apart from that, in three consecutive years, Indonesian men’s doubles have always succeeded in winning the All England title. Apart from Fajar/Rian, in 2022, Bagas Maulana/M. Shohibul Fikri came out as champion.

Meanwhile, Fajar/Rian’s victory was the second title for Indonesia at All England 2024. Previously, one title had been presented by Indonesian men’s singles through Jonatan Christie.

Jonathan emerged as champion after defeating his compatriot Anthony Sinisuka Ginting. In the all Indonesian Final match, Jonathan won with a score of 21-15 and 21-14.
