Australia women’s cricket team blew away Bangladesh in the first match of the three-match T20 series. Aussies beat Niger Sultana’s team by a huge margin of 10 wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
Bangladesh won the toss and scored 126 runs in 50 with Niger Sultana winning the toss at the Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Sunday. In response, Australia took the win in 42 balls without losing any wicket.
Bangladesh lost by 10 wickets for the second time. Earlier Bangladesh girls lost by 10 wickets against South Africa.
Earlier in the three-match ODI series, Bangladesh girls could not touch the milestone of 100 runs in any match due to batting failure. There was a glimmer of hope in Niger’s fifties today, but the two Aussie openers Alisha Healy and Beth Mooney’s pair of fifties extinguished that light.
Nigar Sultana remained unbeaten with 63 runs off 64 balls. He scored the sixth half-century of his career in 7 boundaries. Besides, Fahima Khatun scored 27 off 21 balls and opener Murshida Khatun scored 20 off 27 balls.
And both the openers won the match for Australia. Healy scored 42-ball 65 and Mooney scored 55 runs from 36 balls to leave the field unbeaten and victorious.
