JAKARTA – Global biopharmaceutical company producing Covid-19 vaccine, AstraZeneca finally admitted in court documents to the rare side effects of its AstraZeneca vaccine.
Developed vaccine AstraZeneca together with Oxford University, this can reportedly cause serious injury in dozens of cases and even death.
Based on the court report, related parties could be subject to legal fines worth millions of pounds sterling.
Launching the Telegraph, Thursday (2/5/2024), lawyers argued that the vaccine caused side effects that had a negative impact on a small number of families.
The first case was brought last year by Jamie Scott, a father-of-two, who suffered permanent brain injuries after suffering blood clots and bleeding on the brain.
This condition made him unable to work again after receiving the vaccine in April 2021. The hospital even called his wife three times to tell her that her husband was going to die.
AstraZeneca had opposed this claim, but now they have admitted it through legal documents submitted to the High Court in February.
In the document it is written that the Covid vaccine can actually cause Thrombosis with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome (TTS) in very rare cases.
“It is recognized that the AZ vaccine, in very rare cases, can cause TTS. The causal mechanism is unknown,” the report wrote.
