In St. Petersburg, the court arrested Vartan Balayan and Denis Kovalev, who stole nine million rubles worth of jewelry and five thousand US dollars from a house in the village of Tyarlevo.

Those persons will be in prison until May 25. They are charged with Article 158 (“Theft”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Balayan and Kovalev refused to testify.

The interlocutor of the “Lenta.ru” site said that the thieves were previously convicted. The victim is Yevgenia Igumnova, Honored Artist of Russia, actress of St. Petersburg theater. She played the role of Princess Jasmine in the cartoon “Aladdin”.

According to the investigation, the robbers entered the house on March 25 and stayed in the house until the night of March 26. Later, they took the jewelry and money and fled from the crime scene.

On March 26, it became known that Igumnova’s house was stolen. The artist said that the attackers broke the door and entered and stole two expensive watches, a pendant, “Tiffany” earrings, 11 expensive rings and 5 thousand dollars. The total amount of damage was 9 million rubles. The thieves were detained on March 28.
