She won grails from the French Open and the US Open, won the Tournament of Champions in doubles and the Fed Cup twice with the national team. Now, tennis star Andrea Sestini Hlaváčková (37) would happily exchange all the trophies for the health of her beloved husband Fabrizio (42).
They vowed their love less than seven years ago on the golf course in Dýšin near Pilsen. There they promised each other loyalty and mutual support. For better or for worse, in health or in sickness… Right now, the relationship that gave birth to their beloved daughter Isabela five years ago and her cute little sister Bea two weeks ago is going through more complicated moments.

Fabrizio, a Roman like a log, ended up in the operating room of the ENT and head and neck surgery clinic of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Motola. Here he underwent a difficult operation on the thyroid gland – a so-called thyroidectomy. “I am grateful to Professor Plzák and his team at the Motol hospital for their wonderful care and professionalism. I couldn’t have asked for better hands,” a smiling Sestini thanked the manager on Instagram. And added a current photo.
On it, you can clearly see the place where the operator guided the scalpel during the initial cut… He left the hospital after a difficult operation and went straight to his family. His girls couldn’t wait to be the heads of the family.
What is a thyroidectomy
A thyroidectomy is an operation in which one or (usually) both lobes of the thyroid gland are removed. The most common reason for removal of the thyroid gland is its enlargement (goiter), whether in the form of a small nodule or a general enlargement, suspected cancer or excessive thyroid function that cannot be controlled with medication.
