Tripoli, November 2, 2023 (LANA) – Al-Nasr basketball team under the 20-year-old category was crowned with the “Libya Cup”, achieving a double season for the same category at the Libyan level, after outperforming Al-Shabab Al-Arabi by (9) points, and by (68 to 59). A point, in the final match between the two teams in the Great Hall of Tripoli yesterday, Wednesday.
In this interview, the sons of Tunisian coach “Firas Viala” succeeded in achieving victory in the first period by a difference of (10) points, and with a score of (19 to 9) points. As for Al-Shabab Al-Arabi, they tried hard to stop Al-Nasr in several ways in the second quarter, so that they could win the result of the second periods. In their favor, the score was (21 vs. 11) points, while the score of the first half was tied, with a score of (30 vs. 30) points.
The victory basket returned in the second half to achieve control over the course of the confrontation, and the Nasr team won the third period in their favor with a single basket difference, and with a score of (13 vs. 11) points.
Al-Nasr’s desire to win the double increased, especially since Al-Nasr’s youth succeeded in the final period of victory with a score of (25 to 18) points, while the result of the second half for Al-Nasr was (38 to 29) points.
With this coronation, Al-Nasr Basketball, under the 20-year-old category, has ended the sports season (2022/2023) by winning the Eastern Region League and Cup, and concluded this season’s journey by winning the Cup League at the Libyan level.
The match was led by a refereeing team consisting of international Haitham Al-Sarawi, the first referee, Ibrahim Abdullah, the second referee, and Muhammad Issa, the third referee. It is noteworthy that Al-Nasr Basket achieved victory in the league championship two days ago, after excelling in (three) consecutive matches in the finals of the Libyan Football League.
