The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority has confirmed its constant keenness to advance, develop and organize the tourism sector, and to ensure that all private tourism sector facilities adhere to the regulatory requirements and regulations in force and apply them, in order to ensure the application of procedures between the various tourism sector facilities within the framework of the laws and regulations in force in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and to preserve The reputation of the sector and the consolidation of the position of its tourism facilities as a safe destination for citizens, residents and tourists at all standards.

Based on this, the Bahrain Tourism Authority, in coordination and cooperation with relevant government agencies, implemented a number of inspection campaigns on tourist establishments and issued administrative decisions against 45 tourist establishments in violation of the provisions of Decree Law No. 15 of 1986 regarding the regulation of tourism, its amendments and the decisions implementing it.

The Bahrain Tourism Authority stated that administrative decisions were issued to completely close 13 tourist facilities until the causes of the violations were eliminated, which varied between sub-leasing without the authority’s approval or practicing a tourist activity without a license, in addition to 14 establishments to which decisions were issued to suspend the tourism license granted to them for various periods for committing violations, including writing off balances. manually, or employing artists without a license, or changing the nature of the facility’s work, in addition to sending written warnings to 18 tourist facilities regarding the need to avoid violations, including failure to update data in the authority’s system for managers and facilities.

The Authority expressed its keenness to strengthen partnership and cooperation with private tourism sector establishments, guarantee the rights of tourist establishments that adhere to the regulations and laws, and prevent non-compliant establishments from any transgression they undertake, as part of the efforts aimed at maintaining the highest levels of competitiveness, fairness and stability enjoyed by the labor market.

The Bahrain Tourism Authority also affirmed its commitment to carrying out inspection visits and inspection campaigns on tourist establishments periodically in cooperation with various government agencies, to ensure that tourist establishments in all regions of the Kingdom adhere to applicable tourism laws and regulations, and to combat illegal practices that negatively affect the stability and competitiveness of the labor market.

The Authority renewed its keenness to provide all forms of unlimited support to the tourism sector, and its commitment to developing, modernizing and organizing it, and strengthening its oversight tools over it, to improve the quality and standards of the tourism services it provides, which put the safety and security of tourists in the first place, within the tourism strategy of the Kingdom of Bahrain 2022-2026. This would attract more tourists and achieve sustainable tourism growth in the Kingdom.
