The Ministry of Tourism reported that the government has launched the tourism sector strategy for the period 2022-2026 within the framework of the economic recovery plan with the aim of achieving comprehensive economic development. The strategy aims to achieve four strategic objectives: highlighting Bahrain’s position as a global tourism center, increasing the contribution of tourism to the domestic product, and increasing Number of countries targeted to attract more tourists. The Ministry of Tourism confirmed that it and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority are working to intensify efforts to accelerate the pace of implementing the objectives of the Tourism Strategy 2022-2026 to diversify the tourism product, double the contribution of tourism to the gross domestic product, and attract more tourists in a way that enhances the Kingdom’s position as a major preferred destination for tourists in the region, and the strategy has succeeded. 1. Coordinating with hotels, tourism companies, and the national carrier, Gulf Air, to create attractive promotional offers for various events and festivals organized in the Kingdom, whether by the government or by the private sector, and to promote them locally and among the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

2. Creating tourism offers in international markets through cooperation with travel and tourism agents abroad to create tourism offers for Bahrain and promoting these offers and packages to attract the largest number of tourists and digital marketing campaigns for Bahrain as a tourist destination for local events and attracting diverse social media influencers.

3. The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority creates packages for family and cultural activities aimed at introducing natural, environmental and archaeological tourist sites. These packages are made in cooperation with the private sector through companies that manage local tourist destinations and promote them locally, Gulf and regionally.

4. Implementing awareness campaigns related to specific tourist seasons and holiday seasons to highlight the best things that can be done for tourists in the Kingdom of Bahrain and to promote the largest and most important events held in the Kingdom.

5. Participation in prominent international and regional tourism exhibitions. These exhibitions provide an opportunity to introduce the Kingdom of Bahrain to the global audience and exchange experiences with other tourist destinations.

6. Promotions and discounts The Authority offers special promotions and discounts to visitors and tourists during specific periods of the year. These offers are promoted through various communication channels and media to attract more visitors.

7. Publicity and advertising: Various promotional and advertising materials are produced, such as promotional videos, publications, and promotional posters to introduce Bahrain’s tourist attractions and activities available therein.

8.Working to develop tourism guidance outputs and building market capabilities within the tourism sector in accordance with best practices and within the framework of cooperation with the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism).

9. Contributing to the promotion of local events or local energies that aim to integrate craftsmen into the activities of the Ministry and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority in cooperation with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, or promoting the Bahraini farmers’ market, or celebrating Bahraini gold in the historic Manama Market.

10. Holding festivals to promote family tourism, such as the Festival City and the Food Festival to promote local cuisine and provide an entertaining family atmosphere, New Year’s celebrations and fireworks, in addition to cooperating with the private sector to hold many events and festivals with the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority.

11. Developing the seafronts in the Kingdom to enhance the beach or coastal tourism experience as one of the most prominent initiatives of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s tourism strategy 2022-2026 due to the Kingdom’s natural tourism potentials that attract tourists, as the Authority works in coordination with the relevant authorities to develop and increase the number of Beaches, whether public or private, in order to meet the requirements of those coming to the Maritime Kingdom to spend the best times. The Authority also works with the relevant authorities to organize the beach management process by creating a commercial activity in a registration system in this regard, with the aim of unifying standards, specifications, and beach management systems in the Kingdom and raising the level of The safety standards applied in it are also working within the tourism strategy to build a number of tourism projects in the field of developing new beaches with various high-quality facilities that contribute to the development and diversification of tourism products offered, such as the Galali Coast Waterfront, and the Bahrain Bay Beach Project.

Regarding the subject of diving, the Authority is working in coordination with the relevant authorities and companies licensed for cruises and diving to develop the pearl diving experience, which was launched in 2018, by studying ways to develop this initiative and improve the level of services provided to tourists wishing to engage in this new experience, which aims to Consolidating the position of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a global center for extracting natural pearls, highlighting the history of the pearl diving profession and creating a unique entertainment and educational experience for tourists about the history of pearl fishing.

12. Promoting educational tourism through the Vatel College of Hospitality, which provides an academic certificate and vocational training to provide the tourism sector with national competencies, and support various tourism projects with highly skilled local cards that possess international experience and standards, through cooperation with the parent college (Vatel in France) to offer professional qualifications. And professional, including the Bachelor’s program in International Hotel Management in the English language. 17. Highlighting business tourism in the Kingdom through the presence of the Bahrain International Exhibition Center as a major center for meetings, conferences and exhibitions.

The Ministry and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority will coordinate and participate with the government health sector represented by the Ministry of Health, government hospitals, the Supreme Council of Health, and the National Health Professions and Services Regulatory Authority (NHRA), in addition to the private health sector, to market what distinguishes the Kingdom in terms of facilities in the field of treatment and health care, and to highlight technical capabilities. And technology for NHRA and hospitals in the Kingdom, and the expertise of doctors, and the successful experiences of patients through available media channels, and the design of campaigns dedicated to this purpose with travel and tourism agencies.
