The Bahrain Tennis Club will hold at five o’clock in the evening tomorrow, Wednesday, the final match and closing ceremony of the 28th BBK Open Junior Tennis Championship, which was organized by the club from February 18 to 28 with the participation of 220 male and female players.

The final day’s program begins with the main match of the tournament for the 18-year-old singles cup between the Bahraini player Hajar Zidane and her competitor, the Egyptian player Sarah Desouky, ranked 1700 in the world, in a strong and equal match, and it is expected that this will be the final match for this distinguished tournament, given the high technical level presented by the two players. It heralds a beautiful and enjoyable finale.

The twenty-eighth edition of the tournament this year included 9 competitions in singles and doubles tennis for male and female juniors, in addition to the BBK Tennis Buds Festival, which was held on Friday with the participation of 120 male and female players.

Khamis Mohammed Al-Muqla, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Tennis Club, praised the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait Group’s continued sponsorship of this distinguished tournament since 1994 until now. He also appreciated the interest of the bank’s executive management, headed by Dr. Abdul Rahman Ali Saif, CEO, in providing all the comfort factors for the players and all the success factors for the tournament. He expressed his happiness at the large turnout of participating players and the wonderful matches they presented in a high sportsmanship.

During the past two days, the Bahrain Tennis Club witnessed the final matches of the rest of the tournament’s competitions, where the Bahraini player Abdullah Al-Assad won the “Mini Tennis” Cup at the age of 8 years, and his compatriot, the player Hassan Bu Khamas, came in second place, and in the “Mini Tennis” competition at the age of 10 years, the Bahraini player won Abdullah Shaheen took first place, the Jordanian player Omar Hashem came in second place, and the Saudi player Elias Al-Ghafli won the first place cup in the 12-year-old singles competition at the expense of his compatriot, the player Sultan Al-Yami, who came in second place, while the Bahraini player Reda Hassan, our national team player, achieved first place in the In the individual competition, aged 14 years, his colleague Abdul Rahman Al-Dosari came in second place, and in the women’s individual competition, aged 12 years, Bahraini Sofia Badr won the championship cup, and Alana Sifra of the Philippines came in second place.
