He said that the Khalifa City Market project is being built on a land area of ​​more than 10,000 square meters, explaining that the market consists of 3 main sections, which are the vegetable section, the meat section, and the fish section, with a total area of ​​1,740 square meters.

He added that the project also includes a commercial exhibition with an area of ​​2,070 square meters, 9 shops with an area of ​​237.6 square metres, 5 restaurants with an area of ​​237.6 square metres, kiosks, a public services area, and parking lots.

The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture said, “Green spaces and afforestation will also be created between the buildings in the residential neighborhoods on an area of ​​8,084.5 square meters, while ensuring the biological diversity of plants and their types. In turn, His Excellency Engineer Ibrahim bin Hassan Al-Hawaj, Minister of Works, confirmed that the Ministry will work to implement a number of infrastructure development projects in a way that contributes to enhancing the quality of public services and meeting the aspirations and needs of the people of the region.

During the visit, developments in the development of some roads leading to Complex 988 were reviewed, in addition to a number of projects that the Ministry of Public Works will work to implement in the Tenth District of the Southern Governorate, within the third package of roads, sanitation and municipal projects. His Excellency explained that the project to establish a wastewater treatment plant in Khalifa City has been re-submitted to a public tender. The project includes the design and construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Khalifa City with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters per day.

The project also includes the construction of a conveyor sewer line approximately 10 kilometers long to accommodate and transport sewage flows from the treatment plants (Jaw Station, Askar Station, and Al-Dur Station), as well as from the two temporary treatment plants established by the Ministry of Housing to serve its housing projects in the region.
