During the visit, His Excellency Engineer Wael bin Nasser Al-Mubarak, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, confirmed the continuation of development work in Al-Dur Coast in Complex 960, stressing that the development work in Al-Dur Coast includes installing modern toys and games for people of determination, creating shaded sea areas, and installing solar-powered lighting. He said, “Since it opened the Al-Dur Coast in 2014, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture has always continued development work in a way that suits the requirements of the people,” noting that part of the development work affecting the coasts includes intensifying and increasing afforestation work in accordance with the national afforestation plan.
On the other hand, Al-Mubarak indicated that the Khalifa City Souq project is in the planning study stage, indicating that an initial vision for the Khalifa City Souq project has been developed to suit the needs of the people of the district.
He said that the Khalifa City Market project is being built on a land area of more than 10,000 square meters, explaining that the market consists of 3 main sections, which are the vegetable section, the meat section, and the fish section, with a total area of 1,740 square meters.
He added that the project also includes a commercial exhibition with an area of 2,070 square meters, 9 shops with an area of 237.6 square metres, 5 restaurants with an area of 237.6 square metres, kiosks, a public services area, and parking lots.
The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture said, “Green spaces and afforestation will also be created between the buildings in the residential neighborhoods on an area of 8,084.5 square meters, while ensuring the biological diversity of plants and their types. During the visit, developments in the development of some roads leading to Complex 988 were reviewed, in addition to a number of projects that the Ministry of Public Works will work to implement in the Tenth District of the Southern Governorate, within the third package of roads, sanitation and municipal projects. The Minister of Works indicated that projects serving the housing area in Khalifa City will begin after the completion of tender procedures and awarding of projects.
The Minister of Works explained that the Ministry will work to establish the Boulevard Street, which will serve blocks 956,957,962, as the project is currently in the tender stage.
The Ministry of Works will also work to develop Hawar Street in Khalifa City. The development work includes expanding the street to a two-lane street in each direction, providing sidewalks for pedestrians, and establishing a rainwater drainage network, as the project is in the stage of preparing tender documents.
His Excellency explained that the project to establish a wastewater treatment plant in Khalifa City has been re-submitted to a public tender. The project includes the design and construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Khalifa City with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters per day.
The project also includes the construction of a conveyor sewer line approximately 10 kilometers long to accommodate and transport sewage flows from the treatment plants (Jaw Station, Askar Station, and Al-Dur Station), as well as from the two temporary treatment plants established by the Ministry of Housing to serve its housing projects in the region.

Al-Dosari explained that Al-Dur Coast is one of the important coasts that is frequented by many citizens and residents of the Southern Governorate, and the road projects that will be implemented will serve the people of Khalifa City and will contribute to ease of movement and traffic.
