The activities of the 14th edition of the Malmö Arab Film Festival concluded with the announcement of the awards at a massive ceremony held at the Royal Cinema Hall, one of the largest cinema halls in Sweden.
After the red carpet ceremony, the ceremony began with a speech by the Administrative and Technical Advisor of the Malmo Festival, director Mohamed Kablawi, in which he thanked the audience of the city of Malmo and all the Swedish parties supporting the festival, the sponsors, the Swedish and Arab bodies, institutions, and production companies that contributed to presenting the Malmo Film Industry Days Awards, and thanked the workers and volunteers at the festival. He considered the end of the 14th session of the festival as the beginning of preparation for the 15th session in April next year. He also thanked all the festival guests, considering the days that passed of the festival as a wonderful experience for cultural acquaintance.
Then the short film jury was invited to go up to the stage and announce the awards. The committee was composed of actor Ashraf Barhoum, festival director Fatima Al-Nawali Azer, and producer and director Ali Karim. The committee members presented the awards in succession and were as follows:
The Best Short Film Award (15,000 Swedish Krona) went to the film I Hope You, My Heart – directed by Sherine Magdy Diab (Egypt). The Special Jury Prize (10,000 Swedish Krona) went to the film Transit – directed by Baqir Al-Rubaie (Iraq). The film Issa – directed by Murad Mostafa (Egypt) received a special mention from the jury, and the film The Red Sea Cries – directed by Fares Rajoub (Germany, Jordan) also received a special mention.

Then, the cinema strategy developer in the municipality of Malmö, Anne Schöring, presented the City of Malmö Audience Choice Award, valued at (25 thousand Swedish krona) and went to the film A Nose and Three Eyes – and presented it to the Egyptian director Amir Ramses.
After handing over the awards, the members of the Board of Directors of the Malmö Arab Film Festival, namely Ayla Mahmoud, Mustafa Qaoud, Alia Al Tamimi, Birgitta Svernsson and Atheer Abbas, honored the former Chairwoman of the Festival Board of Directors, Amal Qiblawi, for her efforts in developing the festival over the past years.
While Thuraya Al-Sheikh and Mrs. Ikhlas presented a card of honor in the name of the Arab Women’s Associations in Malmö to the founder of the Malmö Arab Film Festival, Muhammad Qiblawi.
After the completion of the closing ceremony, the team of the Saudi closing film Hajan was presented, followed immediately by the screening of the film.
