Under the generous patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, may God protect and preserve him, the closing ceremony of the fourth session of the Bahrain International Competition for Holy Quran Recitation via the Internet (Global Reader) will be held tomorrow evening, Wednesday, in the Cultural Hall, organized by the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments. In cooperation with the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.

The final qualifiers for the competition are scheduled to be held this evening, Tuesday, in person in the Kingdom of Bahrain, among the qualified contestants who achieved the highest scores.

The current session of the competition witnessed great interaction and a wide response, with the participation of more than five thousand male and female contestants, from 74 Arab and Islamic countries, who participated in the qualifying stages.

The course enjoyed many official and private partnerships, most notably the official sponsorship from the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, the media partnership with the Ministry of Information, the technical partnership with the Information and e-Government Authority, in addition to media sponsorship from Al-Ayyam and Al-Watan newspapers, platinum sponsorship from Kuwait Finance House and stc, and sponsorship. Gold from Al Salam Bank, Ithmaar Bank, Diyar Al Muharraq, Bahrain National Gas Company, and Gulf Plastic Factories.

The Global Reciter Competition is one of the most prominent international competitions in recitation of the Holy Qur’an. It was launched in 2014 AD, and it is the first of its kind in the world, as it allows all those wishing to participate in it from anywhere in the world where Internet service is available, by entering the competition’s website. quran.bh and recording their data, then uploading video clips of their recitations, so that arbitrators working remotely from different places evaluate the recitations according to the established criteria.

The competition aims to serve the Holy Qur’an, demonstrate great care for it, and encourage all age groups to engage in its recitation and chanting, in addition to highlighting the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in caring for the Holy Qur’an at the global level, and enhancing the Kingdom’s efforts and distinguished initiatives in the field of e-government.
