The two sides also touched on the importance of supporting joint Gulf action in light of the challenges witnessed by the region and the world in order to achieve interests. Joint cooperation between the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council and their peoples and contributes to enhancing security and stability in the region, stressing in this context that the UAE and Kuwait are two basic pillars of the joint Gulf action system and everything that strengthens this system is for the benefit of the peoples of all the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed said that the Gulf tour undertaken by the Emir of Kuwait embodies his keenness to support the system of joint Gulf action, consolidate Gulf interdependence, and support the ambitions of the people of the Arab Gulf and their aspirations towards solidarity, cooperation and integration, especially in light of the developments and challenges surrounding the region, stressing that the UAE believes in this trend. It supports it and considers it an essential part of its policy. He also expressed his confidence in the wisdom of Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and his insightful vision aimed at continuing the journey of goodness and development begun by the leaders of Kuwait, “may God have mercy on them all,” who had historical imprints not only on Kuwait but also on Gulf societies, imprints that will remain in the conscience and memory of the people of the Emirates and the peoples of the Gulf. Especially in the fields of education and health.

The two sides affirmed that the relations between the two countries and their peoples are historically fraternal, based on strong foundations of respect and understanding and supported by interdependence, cohesion, and a firm belief in the unity of goals, destiny, and joint cooperation to confront the challenges witnessed by the region, stressing their keenness to continue pushing them forward for the good and achieving their common interests. For his part, the Emir of Kuwait stressed his country’s keenness to strengthen and develop bilateral relations in all areas of cooperation.

In addition, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan awarded Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah the “Zayed Medal” in appreciation of the established fraternal relations that unite the two countries and the efforts of Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to strengthen them. The “Zayed Medal” is the highest award bestowed by the UAE to heads of state, kings and leaders. For his part, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah presented Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan with the “Mubarak Al-Kabeer Necklace,” in appreciation of his role in consolidating relations between the two countries, and for his efforts to consolidate the bonds of brotherhood and interdependence between the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The ceremony took place at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, as part of a state visit by the Emir of Kuwait to the UAE. The President of the Emirates said: “Awarding the Emir of Kuwait (the Zayed Medal) is an expression of our appreciation and pride in the fraternal Emirati-Kuwaiti relations, and his efforts to consolidate them and push them forward at various levels.” For his part, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah expressed his thanks and appreciation to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and his pride in this medal that bears the name of the founder, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan – may God have mercy on him – and the indications it carries of the depth of the deep-rooted relations between the two countries.

The Emirates is the last Gulf stop for the Emir of Kuwait, after he visited the Arab Gulf countries, after assuming the reins of government in his country.
