The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassem Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, expressed his strong condemnation and denunciation of the Israeli decision to approve the construction of about 3,500 new settlement units in the West Bank.
He stated that this decision proves the lack of respect by the Israeli forces for international laws, treaties, and UN resolutions, considering this decision to be an attempt to Judaize large parts of the West Bank and Jerusalem.
The Secretary-General said that these Israeli settlement decisions fuel stability and security in the region and the world, reduce the chances of the peace process and hinder all efforts aimed at it.
At the same time, he also affirmed the commitment and affirmation of the support of the GCC countries for the Palestinian people to achieve their full rights based on the principles of resolving the Palestinian issue, included in the Arab Peace Initiative and United Nations resolutions, to establish their independent and internationally recognized state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with its capital.
