His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, stressed the importance of stimulating and encouraging the public and private sectors to develop and diversify trade and investment exchange, and establishing strategic partnerships that meet the aspirations of the peoples of the two countries, and enhance the prospects for comprehensive cooperation towards the future.

This came, according to the Oman News Agency, in a joint statement between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates issued today, Tuesday, on the occasion of the visit of the Sultan of Oman to the Emirates.

The statement indicated that the two sides discussed regional and international developments of common interest, exchanged views on them, and emphasized strengthening coordination in their positions in a way that serves common interests and strengthens the foundations of stability and security in the region, stressing their positions calling for stability, security, prosperity, and development for all countries and peoples of the region and the entire world.

In the context of the developments taking place in the region, the two sides called on the regional parties to exercise the utmost self-restraint to spare the region and its peoples from the risks of escalation and instability, stressing their position calling for adherence to international laws and resolving differences through diplomacy and dialogue, renewing their calls on the United Nations and the UN Security Council to carry out their responsibilities by strengthening International peace and security.
