The Competitions Committee of the Bahrain Basketball Federation has approved next April as the start date for the Salawi Women’s League competitions for the 2023-2024 sports season.
The federation has addressed the administrations of the local clubs under its umbrella, as well as private companies, universities and academies in Salalah, in order to participate in this league, with the approval and registration period being from February 20 to March 19, so that the federation can take all measures related to the start of the league and prepare the schedule for the matches.
The Competitions Committee set some conditions for the league, such as allowing four resident female players to be registered with each team and providing proof of this, provided that only two female players are registered in the match sheet, while each team will be allowed to sign one non-Bahraini professional player starting from the semi-finals, provided that her age is not less than that. 18 years old, while the rest of the players are 14 years old and above.
The Women’s League is always very competitive between the teams participating in it, which demonstrates the Bahraini Salawi talent present in our local female stadiums, and it is hoped that this competition and advanced level will continue this season as well.
