The European Commission (EC) will allocate 10 million euros to the Energy Efficiency Fund of Moldova and 3 million euros for technical support to the National Center for Sustainable Energy.

Publika.az Moldovan media reports that this was stated by Kadri Simson, Commissioner for Energy Affairs of the European Union in Chisinau.

In a joint briefing with the Minister of Energy of Moldova Viktor Parlikov, he noted that the EC will also support the country in achieving zero emissions by 2050 by expanding the process of electrification and optimizing the energy sector.

“After the decision to start negotiations, we are entering a new stage where our dialogue with the EU will be even more intensive, so that we can integrate into the EU energy market when we complete the energy connection with Romania and Beltsi-Sucava in 2027-2028,” said Parlikov.

Moldova has committed to continue the construction of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau and Beltsy-Sucava overhead power lines (400 kV), as well as the construction of the third 400 kV inter-grid line in Straseni.
