Life Style: You must have tasted Gujarat’s famous dish Dhokla. Dhokla is the pride of Gujarat’s food and is liked by everyone. But many people do not like to eat it just because of gram flour. In such a situation, today we have brought for you an easy recipe to make soft and spongy Dhokla without gram flour. So let us know about this recipe.
necessary ingredients
– 1 cup toor dal (soaked for 5 hours)
– 1 cup chana dal (soaked for 5 hours)
– 2 cups rice (soaked for 4-5 hours)
– 1 cup curd
– Salt as per taste
– 1 tablespoon sugar
– 1 green chilli finely chopped
– 2 green chillies (cut lengthwise)
– 1 inch piece of ginger
– Half teaspoon celery (if desired)
– 7-8 curry leaves
– half teaspoon turmeric
– 1 packet eno
– 1 lemon
– 1 tablespoon finely chopped coriander
– half teaspoon mustard
– a pinch of asafoetida
– Oil as required
recipe
– First of all, put toor dal and chana dal in a mixer jar and grind them.
– Take out the lentil paste in a plate and then grind the rice also.
Now mix lentil-rice paste, curd and salt together and keep it aside for 4 to 5 hours.
– After the stipulated time, add salt, turmeric, celery, half teaspoon sugar, green coriander, ginger, green chilli, asafoetida, eno and 1 teaspoon oil to the paste and mix it.
– Keep water in a cooker on medium flame to heat.
As soon as the water gets hot, grease a plate with oil and put the Dhokla paste in the plate and keep it inside the cooker.
– Close the lid of the cooker, remove the whistle and cook for 8 to 10 minutes. – Open the lid after the stipulated time.
– Keep oil in a pan on low flame to heat.
As soon as the oil is hot, add mustard seeds, green chillies and curry leaves and fry.
As soon as they are roasted, add water, salt and lemon juice and boil. Turn off the flame as soon as the first boil comes.
Now take out the Dhokla in a plate and cut it into pieces with a knife.
– Add a sprinkle of prepared water on top. Dhokla without gram flour and semolina is ready.
