Yemen hosted by the Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco

The Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco announced that it will organize, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen, an international symposium on “Yemen, Civilization and History,” on April 24 and 25 at the Academy’s headquarters, with the aim of “illustrating the patterns of the cultural and civilizational heritage of Yemen, in addition to presenting approaches to the Yemeni musical heritage.” .

The Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco explained, in a statement, that the symposium comes within the framework of “implementing the objectives of the new structure of the Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco, which calls for developing and developing scientific research and working to advance it in various fields of thought, culture and knowledge, and enhancing the depth of fraternal, historical and cultural ties between Morocco and Yemen.”

The same source added, “This international symposium will be attended by specialists in the linguistic, artistic and musical heritage from Morocco, Yemen and France, and those responsible for the restoration of Yemeni antiquities and those interested in cultural affairs in Yemen.”

The communication indicated that the opening session will be held today, Wednesday, at six in the evening, during which Abdeljalil Lahjamri, Permanent Secretary of the Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco, will deliver an opening speech, followed by a speech by Izz al-Din Saeed al-Asbahi, Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen, during which he will present a documentary tape about the features and manifestations of the Republic’s civilization. Yemeni music, with a music show that highlights the specificity of the Yemeni musical heritage and its impact on human music.”

The communication emphasized that this symposium aims to discuss several issues about the intellectual, linguistic, and artistic musical heritage in Yemen, namely: “the lyrical and musical heritage in Yemen,” “the intellectual and material cultural heritage of Yemen,” and “the ancient languages ​​and monuments in Yemen.”
