Xóchitl Gálvez requests to cancel AMLO’s morning meeting

After three hours of a closed-door meeting with the General Council of the INE, Xóchitl Gálvez and the leaders of the opposition alliance leave. They requested that the “morning” be canceled due to the “incontinence” of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to support Claudia Sheinbaum, and that the National Electoral Institute (INE) disseminate an information campaign to clarify that social programs do not belong to any party .

The opposition presidential candidate, Xóchitl Gálvez, and the leaders of the PAN, PRI and PRD, met behind closed doors for three hours and 15 minutes with nine of the 11 members of the General Council of the National Electoral Institute (INE), headed by the Presidential Counselor, Guadalupe Taddei, to whom they requested the suspension of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s “morning” conferences, while the electoral campaigns last.

In a press conference, accompanied by the PAN member Marko Cortés, the PRI member Alejandro Moreno and the PRD member Jesús Zambrano, the presidential candidate explained that before the electoral advisors she explained that the daily conference has served the president to illegally promote his candidate Claudia Sheinbaum.

Xóchitl Gálvez reported that the request to cancel the “mañanera” will be submitted to the general council of the INE.

He highlighted that, during the meeting, which was attended only by counselors Rita Bell and Arturo Castillo, who are on commission outside of Mexico City, he also requested that the INE undertake an information campaign to clarify to citizens that social programs do not They belong to no political party and no one can condition them in exchange for their vote.

The candidate said that the INE informed her that it will promote a campaign starting next week.

“They (the councilors) told us that they already have a campaign that begins on April 15 (…) and in that sense we have asked that the issue of social programs be specified. We will be very attentive”he pointed out.

At the press conference in the lobby of the INE, he revealed that he also asked the electoral advisors that the Institute provide security to the candidates to the extent of its powers.

“On the issue of security it was made very clear that work will be done jointly, obviously within the powers and capabilities of the INE. We are not asking to do anything that the INE cannot develop or implement”he pointed.
