MEXICO CITY (apro).- The head of Government, Martí Batres, assured that “the water from the 13 wells supplied by the Benito Juárez and Álvaro Obregón municipalities is “not in any way affected,” with the exception of the Alfonso XIII well, which It was secured and closed on April 10.

In a conference, the president said that according to the information given to him by the Mexico City Water System (Sacmex), the water coming from the 13 wells in the aforementioned municipalities “is coming out clean, odorless, with “normal parameters.”

He highlighted that Rafael Carmona, head of Sacmex, has already reported that there are eight monitoring points in the primary network and tests are carried out daily on the 13 wells: “Daily monitoring is being done, tests are being done on the water in that area and that this water is not “The one that comes out of these 13 wells has no type of impact, and the way to verify it is in the wells themselves and in the network.”

Batres explained that “the task now is to clean the cisterns,” since “some” of the substance contaminating the water in Benito Juárez could remain inside the pipes.

And when asked about who contaminated the water, he referred to the alleged sabotage: “The Prosecutor’s Office (General Justice of Mexico City, FGJCDMX) has an open folder on the matter and there are also investigations that Sacmex is carrying out and there are also investigations in those that PEMEX (Petróleos Mexicanos) is helping us.”

On April 17, Sacmex filed a complaint with the capital’s Prosecutor’s Office, against whoever is responsible, for the alleged sabotage that would have caused contamination in the water of the mayor’s office governed by the PAN member Isael Mata Salas.
