When saying goodbye to his career, tennis player Rosol opened up about a painful topic: Thanking his abandoned father!

Those lines were not easy for him to write, he might even have shed a tear. On the one hand, he said a final goodbye to his beloved sport, but on the other hand, he had to open the door to his thirteenth chamber again. “Thank you to my parents, Dana and Emil, for the sacrifices they made for my tennis, for their love and support,” it was right at the beginning of the thank-you note that Lukáš published on social networks.

Divorce alienated them!

His father brought him to tennis, toured tournaments with him, invested a lot of money in him. But when Lukáš was in his twenties, they became estranged. “Something happened that I don’t want to talk about. It’s a sensitive thing,” he said to Lightning then. Parents divorced.

He didn’t talk to his father for five years! Mr. Emil is said to have broken his heart. He was still waiting for the famous descendant to invite him to the Grand Slam in Paris, but instead he didn’t exist for him. And then came the fateful April 2013. An hour after his son’s winning match in the Davis Cup in Kazakhstan, he collapsed in the garden at home.

A heart attack combined with a stroke! Immediately after his return, Lukáš rushed to the hospital in Hodonín, but dad did not wake up from the coma and died a week later. They couldn’t reconcile…

But the pain got worse! The survivors didn’t want the tennis player at the funeral, they say he didn’t even show interest in the last farewell. Lukáš’s despair then reached such proportions that he even lied to Blesku about his alleged participation in the funeral! He thanked his father for everything now, at least after years. “It’s been a hell of a ride and I’m thankful for this dream come true,” concluded Rosol, also remembering his father.
