“Zhoghovurd” daily writes: “Zhoghovurd” daily found out what the Anti-corruption Committee, which searched the house of the former Chairman of the Central Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan Vardazaryan yesterday, was looking for. In particular, according to the information we received, the law enforcement officers searched for the full version of the recording of Ruben Vardazaryan’s controversial conversation with the ex-Chairman of the Central Committee Gagik Jhangiryan published 2 years ago.

Why did the law enforcement officers remember the full version of the recording now, especially when the case was dismissed with the light hand of the Anti-Corruption Committee, and the case was reopened only thanks to Vardazaryan’s persistence. Until then, the anti-corruption committee, which was virtually inoperative, is looking for new targets.

Let us remind that in 2022 On June 20, Ruben Vardazaryan published a sensational audio recording at the press conference, which was based on the fact that Gagik Jhangiryan, the acting chairman of the Central Committee of the Central Committee, tried to force Vardazaryan to resign from the position of the chairman of the Central Committee of the Central Committee.

The noisy conversation-demand took place around the dinner table, which was attended not only by Vardazaryan and Jhangiryan, but also by Stepan Mikayelyan, a member of the Central Committee. On the same day, Jhangiryan personally admitted on the air of Hanrayin that he had indeed conducted negotiations with Vardazaryan to get him to resign.

Moreover, the latter stated that it is not an easy task to force the president of the Central Committee to resign, and he used psychological tricks and “took him”. Days after the noisy recording and the most incomprehensible interview, it was announced that Gagik Jhangiryan has health problems and underwent an operation, and here, on July 1, Jhangiryan’s resignation was officially confirmed.

In the RA Investigative Committee, a criminal proceeding was initiated with the materials prepared in connection with the said recording, which was terminated in December on the basis of the absence of a crime. As part of the proceedings as a witness in the CC, former members of the Central Committee of the Central Committee Stepan Mikayelyan, Sergey Chichoyan and member of the Central Committee of the Central Committee Vigen Kocharyan were also questioned. Moreover, a decision was made not to prosecute the last two.

Vardazaryan filed a complaint against the said decision, but before the complaint was received, RA Deputy Prosecutor General Artur Poghosyan canceled the investigator’s decision on his own initiative, making a decision to send the case to the Anti-Corruption Committee. At the same time, the prosecutor recorded that the deadlines were not observed after announcing the end of the preliminary investigation, because the investigator did not allow time for an appeal after announcing the end of the investigation. After being transferred to the Anti-corruption Committee, the proceedings were effectively kept frozen for three months, then terminated on the basis of the absence of a crime.

The decision to terminate the proceedings of the case was challenged in court. As a result, the Anti-Corruption Court, presided over by Judge Mary Mosinyan, satisfied the complaint of Vardazaryan’s representatives, canceling the decision to terminate the case proceedings.

The court act was not contested by either the prosecutor’s office or the investigator, so the court act entered into legal force. Now the proceedings have been resumed, and, in fact, the first task is to search for the full version of the recording, and the inadmissible coercion of the state official, the Chairman of the Central Committee, Vardazaryan, was not examined and is not being examined today.”
