“We have a constitution to maintain a fair democratic process. The Prime Minister is always thinking of the people to keep this trend intact. Thinking of how to involve the people more, how to take the country forward. So what any country said is not our main issue. Our main thing is, how can we move the people forward, how can we make our practice of democracy more beautiful.’

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said these things in response to a journalist’s question at a community policing and anti-drug rally in Kurigram on Thursday (March 7).

He also said that Hon’ble Prime Minister has ordered that there will be no boat symbol at the district level. Whoever can in the local government will be elected. So we think that if democracy is not practiced in our country, I have a question about how many people who say democracy is not practiced in their country.

Kurigram District Police Superintendent Al Asad said in the anti-narcotics rally. Mahfuzul Islam spoke in the chair, MP of Kurigram-2 Constituency Dr. Hamidul Haque Khandkar, Kurigram-2 Constituency MP Soumandre Prasad Pandey, Kurigram-4 Constituency MP Biplab Hasan Palash, Home Ministry Security Services Department Secretary Abdullah Al Masud Chowdhury, Rangpur Range DIG Abdul Baten etc.

Teachers, public representatives, journalists and civil society representatives were present in the rally.
