Weather alert: strong storms are predicted in Tucumán and three other provinces

The National Meteorological Service (SMN) issued storm alerts for 60 Argentine locations where strong storms are expected today that may be accompanied by intense winds and hail and will leave accumulated values ​​of up to 80 millimeters.

The most severe storms will affect the center of Salta, which is under orange alert. The national organization highlighted that in this area, the rains will be accompanied by significant electrical activity, occasional hail, intense gusts and abundant water fall in short periods, with accumulated precipitation values ​​expected between 60 and 80 mm.

A yellow level warning also applies for the province of Jujuy, most of Salta, the entire territory of Tucumán and the center of Catamarca. Strong storms are forecast there, also with intense gusts, occasional hail and strong electrical activity, and accumulated precipitation values ​​between 20 and 50 mm.

The SMN recommended that the inhabitants of the towns under alert not to take out the garbage, remove objects that prevent water from draining, avoid outdoor activities, not take shelter near trees and electricity poles that may fall and not remain on beaches, rivers, lagoons or pools.

Salta: Capital, Cerrillos, Guachipas, La Viña, lower area of ​​Chicoana, lower area of ​​La Caldera, lower area of ​​Rosario de Lerma and mountainous area of ​​Cafayate.
