On February 27, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Russian forces had destroyed an M1 Abrams tank near the village of Berdychi, located northwest of the city of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region and where the Russian army recently gained control. .
In January 2022, the US pledged to support Ukraine with 31 M1 Abrams tanks before Kiev launched its counterattack campaign. However, the US will only fully hand over to Ukraine in mid-October 2023.
