The President said that the state will take all necessary measures. Today, a one-time payment is being made to all flood victims. After the assessment, the commission will pay compensation for property damage. For residents whose houses cannot be restored, new housing will be built and all the necessary infrastructure will be provided. In addition, victims will be provided with deferments on loans and borrowings.
We are going through a difficult time right now. This is a national disaster. On the other hand, positive signs are already evident. The water gradually drains away. I think that the next 10 days will be the most critical, but we are already taking measures to reconstruct the entire country and eliminate the consequences of this disaster. As I already said, the government will not leave any of its citizens without appropriate care. We will reimburse all expenses you incurred during this flood. Every citizen, every family will be provided with care from the state. This is a priority task for me now,” the president said.
To save the budget, he instructed the government, central state and local executive bodies to refuse to hold image-building and other major events.
I canceled a major international forum to save money. We will reduce the costs of the World Nomad Games. It is no longer possible to cancel such an event, but the budget will be significantly reduced. In addition, the budget for our country’s holding and participation in the World Exhibition in Tokyo will be reduced,” the head of state said.
The President pointed out the need for all government agencies to learn lessons from the consequences of floods. A decision was made to train hydraulic engineers.
It was previously announced that after a one-day visit to Yerevan, the president would visit one of the regions of Kazakhstan located in the flood zone. Today it became known that the head of state flew to North Kazakhstan. It flew around the Kyzylzharsky district, the outskirts of Petropavlovsk and the Sergeevskoye reservoir.
