Thousands of cars Porsche, Bentley and Audi were blocked at US ports after a supplier to Volkswagen, the parent group of all three companies, found a Chinese component in the vehicles that violated laws against forced labor, according to the Financial Times. According to the British newspaper, the carmaker has delayed the delivery of the vehicles until the end of March as it now replaces a key electronic component found to have come from western China. The sources said that VW did not know the source of the part until the supplier alerted it to the issue and that VW notified US authorities as soon as it was informed of the source of the part. The US bans the import of products produced with forced labor in the Xinjiang region in the west of the country and other parts of China.
