Viva-MTS and the Foundation for Conservation of Wildlife and Cultural Heritage (FPWC) continue to contribute to the development of infrastructure in the regions. Border guards and border villages are especially targeted. The partners of the years summarized the result of another project. Within the framework of the “Eco-village network” project, a solar photovoltaic plant with a installed capacity of 25 kW/h was installed in the kindergarten of Yeraskh village of Ararat marz. It will provide enough current for heating with electric boilers. Power-carrying equipment can also be powered from an alternative energy station, as a result of which the kindergarten will not have electricity costs. Armen Avetisyan, director general of Viva-MTS, and Ruben Khachatryan, director of the Fund for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Values, were present at the launch of the system.

The program implemented by the partner organizations is not only a settlement of the heating issue, but also a justified and expected support from a strategic point of view. There has been no kindergarten in Erase for many years. The children were accepted by the school, which received the right to pre-school educational activities, in its pre-school. Four years ago, one of the school buildings was rebuilt for a kindergarten.

“People should live in the pledge that they are not alone. For us, this is another visit and an opportunity to evaluate the program, and for those living in the border guard village, it is an important support that ensures long-term results. We see the emotional side of the project – people’s satisfaction, and the residents – the rational side – rooms heated with alternative energy, reduced electricity costs and support for families with young children. Any program implemented in the border villages is important. That is also the reason why we consistently contribute to the implementation of infrastructures running on new technologies year after year. The development in the country should equally include the marzes,” said Viva-MTS General Director Armen Avetisyan.

Viva-MTS and the Fund for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Values strive to reduce the costs of rural communities and activate the lives of residents with similar environmental projects implemented in different regions of Armenia. The energy produced by the solar plants will allow to ensure the normal work of the kindergarten without additional costs. Moreover, it will be possible to increase the number of students, open a new group and be useful to families living in nearby villages.

“The border villages of Armenia are always under the special attention of our foundation and partner organizations. Both the lighting systems and the solar plants that follow them are of vital importance to the border communities. We are happy that with such programs, agenda issues for the communities are overcome and preschools are provided with heating without additional costs. The energy produced by the solar plants operating today will allow to ensure the normal work of the Yeraskh kindergarten,” said Ruben Khachatryan, director of the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Values.

Yeraskh is another settlement included in the “Network of Ecovillages” program. The joint project provides an opportunity to integrate these villages in a process based on the four components of sustainability: environmental, economic, cultural and social.
