Válkova’s dot after Dot: It will be replaced by the vaccination EZKarta, paper IDs will remain

While Tečka only served to confirm covid certificates, the new application will have more functions. Anyone who has it on their phone can update it right away. The others can download the EZKarta application today. They will log in to it using the National Identity Authority – so they will have to use an eCivil card, a bank identity or perhaps an eGovernment mobile key.

As soon as the interested parties finally log into the application, they should see their vaccinations. But the ministry prefers to warn in advance that if a large number of people log in at once, the application will ask users to leave it for a while and try it later.

Overview of injections

The editors of Blesk have already tested the application and found all their covid-19 vaccinations in it. However, all vaccinations received after January 1, 2023 should also be displayed. In the future, every new vaccination will be displayed to people as soon as the vaccinating doctor enters it into the central register.

However, if the patient would like, the doctor can order them to be vaccinated retroactively. In addition, users can see exact information in the application, when they were vaccinated, with which vaccine or in which part of the body. “Electronic health care is one of my priorities. And the launched EZKarta is one of the flagships,” said Minister of Health Vlastimil Válek yesterday (TOP 09).

Children’s vaccinations

Several people can be on one EZKarta. Children and other “relatives” should appear automatically in the app to parents and their family members.

People can then share their digital vaccination cards with their doctor using a PDF file that can be found right next to a specific vaccination.

However, the introduction of the digital service does not mean the end of paper cards. These will continue to apply as they are still mandated by law. However, the functions of the EZKarty application should be expanded in the future.

The future of the app

As early as this year, extracts from central departmental systems could appear in it – especially the National Health Information System NZIS, a map of health service providers or perhaps a directory of links to the website of the Ministry of Health.

However, the Tečka application, as people know it, is ending. “I would like to thank the people who launched Tečka. They started the citizen’s awareness that he can have partial information about his state of health in his mobile phone,” stated Válek.
