Universidad de Chile wins 3-1 over Cobreloa and maintains its status as undefeated leader

In a match played at the Zorros del Desierto Stadium, Universidad de Chile demonstrated its dominance in the National Championship by defeating Cobreloa 3-1, thus maintaining its position as undefeated leader along with Deportes Iquique at the top of the table.

The match was full of intense moments and an outstanding performance by both teams, although it was the U that managed to stand out thanks to its football quality.

In the 25th minute, Leandro Fernández converted a penalty after a foul by Diego González on Cristian Palacios, giving the blues the initial advantage. In the 60th minute, Marcelo Morales took advantage of a rebound to extend the lead with a powerful cross shot. And in an effort by Cobreloa, Bairon Monroy scored the goal of honor in the 67th minute. Thus, the U secured the victory in the 89th minute with Nicolás Guerra after an assist from Morales.

With this result, Universidad de Chile consolidates its position as leader of the tournament, although it shares the top with Deportes Iquique, while Cobreloa remains in fifth place in the table with 10 points.

On the next day, the Loínos will face Coquimbo Kingdom as a visitor, while the U will seek to maintain its undefeated streak by visiting Unión Española.
