During a rebel speech in southern Russia, Medvedev said Russia would continue “special military operations” until the other side surrendered. Referring to the territory of Ukraine, he also said that the historical parts of Russia “must return to their homeland”.
Medvedev was saying, ‘A former leader of Ukraine once said that Ukraine is not Russia. This idea needs to disappear forever. Ukraine is definitely part of Russia.’
Meanwhile, Medvedev has denied peace talks with the current Ukrainian authorities led by President Volodymyr Zelensky. He also said that if any future Ukrainian government wants to negotiate peace with Russia, they must accept the reality and recognize Ukraine as a part of Russia.
