Two more people have suffered from heatstroke due to the intense heatwave across the country, the Health Department said. But no one died. According to the organization, 35 people have been affected by heatstroke in the last 15 days. 15 people have died so far.

From the first week of April, the country experiences mild to extreme heat waves for about a month. During this time, deaths due to heat illness occurred in different parts of the country. However, the health department has started keeping data on heatstroke deaths from April 22.

The Department of Health said that from April 22 to Monday morning, 35 people were victims of heatstroke across the country in 15 days. 15 of them have died. Among the dead are 13 men and two women. In addition, among the 35 affected people, five are women and 30 are men.

According to the information of the department, 15 people who died are residents of 11 different districts. Among them, three died in Magura. Two each died in Chittagong and Madaripur. Besides, one person each died in Khulna, Chuadanga, Habiganj, Rajbari, Jhenaidah, Lalmonirhat, Bandarban.
